Senior Gavin Heard is a four-year varsity letter recipient and was a senior captain this year on the Varsity Boys Swim Team at Huntley High School. This year, during the Stevenson Sectional, Heard won the 50 yard Athletes with disabilities (AWD), 100 yard free AWD, 200 yard free AWD and 100 yard breaststroke AWD. During the IHSA State Series at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Gavin won the 50 yard AWD, 100 yard free AWD, 200 yard free AWD and 100 yard breaststroke AWD. This made Gavin a four-event state medalist.

His accomplishments were recognized at Huntley 158’s Board of Education meeting on April 21 at the District Office. Huntley High School Principal, Marcus Belin, congratulated Gavin and amazing feats as his coaches, Jenna Gaudio and Cynthia Fitzgerald were present as well.

“I am so proud of Gavin and all he has accomplished during his high school swimming career. Gavin has always been so positive and is often the first swimmer in the water at practice. I would describe Gavin as kind, supportive and passionate. He truly wants to do and be his best. He never complains and always looks on the bright side. I am going to miss Gavin and his positive attitude but look forward to seeing what he does in the future” said HHS Swimming coach, Jenna Guadio.

Congratulations, Gavin, on a phenomenal last year at Huntley High School! Your positive attitude and outstanding talent do not go unnoticed. Keep up the great work!
